Death of independent medicine and fair trials

I often refer to how much of America has been eroded away during my lifetime, so much so that the country  into which I was born no longer exists.  Younger people don’t know what’s been lost as they never experienced the real America.  What is normal to people is what they are born into and grow up with.  The numerous infringements on individual freedom, for example, that exist today as normal and unquestioned would have been impossible in my youth.

Is your doctor in private practice or is he an employee of a HMO or a health care provider such as a hospital’s corporate empire?

Why does it matter?  If he is a corporate employee, he has lost his independence and has to comply, regardless of his judgment, with protocols handed down by the likes of Tony Fauci and Big Pharma as in the restrictions placed on Covid treatment.  Corporate employees were prohibited from saving lives by treating Covid patients with Ivermectin or HCQ.  Those who thought the Hippocratic Oath protected them and ignored the protocols in order to save lives did so at the cost of their jobs and medical licenses.   Doctors in private practice  cannot be fired, but medical boards can still go after them, but it is not as easy.

Over the course of my life I have watched the gradual erosion of medical independence.  It has occurred through a variety of means.  Medicine in the US today is a price controlled business.  Medicare and private insurance companies set the prices doctors are paid for the range of services and treatments.  The prices discriminate against doctors in private practice. There is one set of prices for corporate medical practice and another set with lower prices for doctors in private practice.  The intentional effect is to drive doctors out of private practice.  I have watched it happen to my doctors.

A study in 2021 found that “Physician reimbursement for services performed by a doctor working for a hospital or health system is significantly higher than that paid to independent physicians for the same services, according to a recent Health Serves Research study.”

The report states: ” Medicare reimbursement for physician services would have been $114 000 higher per physician per year if a physician were integrated compared to being non-integrated. Primary care physicians faced a 78% increase, medical specialists 74%, and surgeons 224%.”

It is the same with private insurance. HMOs are reimbursed more than doctors in private practice.

Notice the use of language as well as the massive difference in payment rates.  A doctor who is an employee and has lost his independence is “integrated,” while a doctor in independent practice is “non-integrated.”  To me “non-integrated” sounds like someone who is positioned outside the approved way of practicing medicine and most certainly is not a profit maximizer. The onus is on him to get “integrated.”

Ask yourself what reason could there be for the massive difference in payments other than to terminate the independence of medicine by driving  doctors out of private practice?  It is an expensive undertaking with integrated doctors costing $114,000  more each annually, but worth it to someone.

This is Big Pharma’s agenda.  Once private practice is extinguished, Big Pharma and its marketing agents–NIH, CDC, FDA, WHO–can control treatment protocols for the purpose of maximizing Big Pharma’s profits or injecting people with “vaccines” that reduce population in accordance with the agenda of WEF, global warming, and Bill Gates.  Big Pharma already controls most medical research and thereby the findings as 70% of medical research is funded by Big Pharma research grants.  Former editors of the two most prestigious medical journals have said that the articles published in the journals cannot be trusted because of Big Pharma’s funding.

Think back to the way that the fear that drove people to be vaccinated with an untested substance was whipped up by financial incentives given to hospitals to report every death as a Covid death.  Think back to the use of the inappropriate PCR “Covid test” that produces 97% false positives. Both were orchestrations that drove people to be vaccinated.  Remember also that you couldn’t use airlines to travel without being vaccinated, or go to school, or play on a sports team, or work for government, or be in the military, or be a hospital nurse, hospital doctor, or airline pilot, etc.

All of this and more was used to achieve as complete a vaccination of the population as was possible despite the known fact that you never mass vaccinate in the face of a pandemic because the result is numerous variants and the undermining of natural immunity.

In other words, already there is enough control over medical science as to effectively silence the truth.  This is especially easy as the Western world does not have an independent print and TV media and as many Internet sites  are funded by entities interested in controlling explanations.

I don’t yet know the full history of the organized attack on private practice.  I am not speaking of “socialized medicine” as corporate medicine is private.  I do know that ObamaCare caused payment differences between private practice and corporate medicine to grow larger because independent doctors and physical therapists told me of their attempts to become affiliated with corporate medicine so their billings could be sent as corporate and failing this sold their practices to HMO chains and retired on the proceeds.

In short, and without any doubt, independent medicine in the United States (in these days of Identity Politics an oxymoron) is doomed and on the way out.

What does it mean for us?  It means that in place of the Hippocratic Oath there will be Big Pharma’s profit-serving or the elite’s population control agendas.

If the points I am making have been made before, I have not seen any sign of them. And I don’t expect this article to get the attention of any investigative journalist in the print and TV media.  We are silently losing the ability to get medical care and are slated to be used for private agendas.

But this must be illegal you say!  So what?  Don’t expect any action by the legal system.  US Senator Ron Johnson held hearings on the alleged pandemic and the adverse effects of the mRNA “vaccines.”  But he was smeared, and the hearings were ignored.

The House Republicans have promised an investigation, but it is unlikely to happen.  The presstitutes will label them “conspiracy theorists” and Big Pharma will target them with political campaign contributions to their election opponents.

In my book, The Tyranny of Good Intentions (2000) I showed that Justice is a thing of the past.  It has been a long time since trials were held to determine innocence or guilt.  Today innocence or guilt is resolved with plea bargains.  According to US Department of Justice (sic) statistics, 97% of felonies are settled by plea bargains.

A plea bargain, not a trial defense, is the work of defense attorney’s today.  The defendant faces a charge, and his lawyer works with the prosecutor’s office to reduce the charge to a less severe one in exchange for not contesting the charge.  This provides the prosecutor with a conviction which builds his effectiveness and chances of running for public office, while freeing his time and the trial judge’s from trial use.  A week or longer of time is saved in an hour or two of negotiation.

The defendant even if innocent submits to incriminating himself, a Constitutional prohibition, because his attorney tells him that if he goes to trail, exculpatory evidence can be withheld, prosecutors can bribe people to give evidence against him, that the judge will tolerate all this, and that the system exists to produce convictions, not innocence or guilt.  The defendant’s attorney tells him from experience that the longer he holds out on a plea deal the greater the chance that the charges will increase in order to pressure him and the harder to negotiate a light sentence.

The result of plea bargain deals is that police evidence and the prosecutor’s case are seldom tested.  As they are seldom tested before jurors, we have no idea of the justice of any conviction.

As I have previously informed readers, when I was young a defendant who experienced conviction in the media, as did Derek Chauvin, would have had the case against him dropped by the judge on the grounds that it was impossible to swear in an objective jury.

But this protection of defendants against the media has also been discarded.

I am confident that many of those who submit to plea bargains are innocent.  I am also confident that those who are guilty are not guilty of the negotiated crimes to which they confessed as these “crimes” were invented in negotiation to take the place of the original charges.  In this sense, everyone imprisoned, unless convicted by an objective jury with all evidence both for and against considered, is innocent.

So to conclude this essay, in my lifetime we have made a mockery of the Hippocratic Oath and Justice.  Not long ago I read an article by a Harvard professor, perhaps from the Medical School, perhaps underwritten by a Big Pharma grant, that the Hippocratic Oath was a fiction, that the oath doesn’t say what it is represented to say.  If there never was a Hippocratic Oath, it doesn’t matter that Big Pharma and Corporate Medicine are taking it away.

What can be done?  I do not know.  Thomas Jefferson, a discarded Founding Father, said 200 years was as long as freedom could live without being refreshed with revolution against the tyranny that again shows us its head.

Trump Americans Need Their Own Political Party

Tucker Carlson’s interview with former Republican US Representative Steve King explains how Washington really works, and it is not according to campaign slogans.

The interview will help Trump Americans understand that no representation of them is coming from the Republican Party, not on immigration or anything else.  Trump himself was easily rolled by the Establishment.  Trump had no idea what he was up against and no staff able to clue him in and help him deal with it.  The Republican Establishment supported the lie that the 2020 presidential election was free of vote fraud and accepted the election fraud as the price of getting rid of Trump.  Do not confuse Trump supporters with the Republican Party.  They stand for different things. Kevin McCarthy will be a worse Speaker of the House for Trump Supporters than Nancy Pelosi.

Trump supporters have no future in the Republican Party, which is cemented to the Establishment.  Trump supporters need to withdraw in mass and form a new party.  It is time for the Republican Party to be discarded. Instead of trying to operate within the Republican Party, Trump should offer his supporters a new party.  If they don’t follow him, they will have sealed their own doom.

Both Tucker Carlson and Steve King missed the real reason US Rep. Kevin McCarthy, the Republican leader in the House, helped the New York Times frame US Rep. King, a principled conservative, as a racist. It wasn’t the three or four words that the presstitutes took out of context and used to concoct a “white supremacist” issue. It was Rep. King’s defense of Western civilization.   Western civilization is white civilization.  To defend it is to defend white people. To defend white people, whom the New York Times 1619 Project labels racist, is racist.  Therefore Rep. King is a racist because he defends Western civilization.

This shows the deadly damage that has been inflicted on Western civilization by its own intellectuals, media, universities and schools, and politicians of both parties.  We have reached the point that we cannot defend our own civilization, our own existence, without being demonized.  Such a civilization is dead, a subject for archaeologists.

The Deracination of Western Civilization

The English have an Indian Prime Minister. The Mayor of the British Capital City is Sadiq Khan, a Pakistani. Will there always be an England?

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak hosted a Diwali reception at 10 Downing Street, marking the return of Lord Rama from exile according to the Hindu scripture. Sunak said: “I will do everything I can in this job to build a Britain where our children and our grandchildren can light their Diyas.” Perhaps this will be an improvement. At least Hindus recognize the struggle between good and evil.

Apparently there won’t be a New Zealand for much longer. The government is considering changing the name of the country to Aotearoa and to replacing the names of all towns, cities, and places by 2026 with Maori names, despite the fact that only 3% of New Zealanders can speak the Maori language.

Similar developments are occurring in the US, Germany, France, Italy. As the West thinks so little of itself, what is the West defending with its nuclear weapons?

Western Civilization Is Ceasing to Exist

I often explain that we are losing civilization. The risks come from many sources.  Among them is the growing risk of nuclear war; the rising police state in which behavior protected by the Constitution is criminalized despite the Constitution; unity supplanted by a Tower of Babel; fomented race and gender hatreds that serve Identity Politics; soil destroyed by glyphosate with consequent reduction in the food value of plants and meat and milk from animals fed GMO products; the corruption of science and education; rejection of the accumulated culture in literature, art, music, morals, and behavior; drastic policies to remedy perceived threats, such as climate change, that might or might not be real; ideological-driven reshaping of society such as the World Economic Forum’s Great Reset; intentionally created and released plagues for the purpose of population control; the weaponization of weather.

The long assault on religion has given satanic forces free range.

The corruption of science is today’s topic.  Science is based in the search for truth and in the integrity of the searcher.  This basis is fragile and corruptible.  If science is perceived as racism and a tool of white supremacy, science looses its authority among those who perceive it in this way. If gender depends on self-declaration and not on body parts, biology is cast away, just as Lysenko’s genetic Marxism destroyed Soviet genetics in the early part of the 20th century.  Ideology is the enemy of science, and we again see the suppression of science by ideology in the prohibition of inquiry into the genetic basis of intelligence.

The greatest corrupter of science is money.  Today scientific experiments cost a lot of money. They can no longer be funded by the budgets of university physics, chemistry, biology, and astronomy departments.  Funding comes from outside, and this opened a pathway for the interests of funders to enter the process.  Federal money to education contained all the threats, and more, that conservatives predicted, and corporate and foundation money bought even more threats.

The funding not only affects what is researched but also the findings.  A large percentage of US physicists and chemists are engaged in weapons research and can take no position, such as questioning the official 9/11 narrative, that threatens their funding.  Psychologists help the CIA hone torture techniques.  Anthropologists aid the CIA in developing methods of controlling populations.  Virologists develop biological weapons. Business schools develop advertising propaganda.  The list goes on.

As we have learned from Covid, NIH and Big Pharma finance most medical research. As the money comes from these sources, these sources determine what is researched and the conclusions.  One product of this financing was Covid itself and the protocols preventing effective treatment that were imposed on doctors for the sake of Big Pharma’s Covid “vaccine” profits and unconstitutional government mandates that further marginalized freedom.

Science careers depend on publication.  When the funding comes from those with commercial or profit interests in research results, the funded scientist is in a conflict of interest situation.  Pleasing the funders is necessary for the continuation of funding, just as an elected representative responds to the interest of his big campaign contributors.

The problem of how science is funded has, like the problem of how elections are financed, reached a critical stage that is destroying the integrity of science as these statements by editors of the two most prestigious  medical journals prove:

“It is simply no longer possible to believe much of the clinical research that is published, or to rely on the judgement of trusted physicians or authoritative medical guidelines.”  — New England Journal of Medicine Chief Editor Marcia Angell, M.D.

“Much of the scientific literature, perhaps half, may simply be untrue . . .  flagrant conflicts of interest . . . science has taken a turn towards darkness.” — Lancet Chief Editor Richard Horton

This documentary explains that today science is bought and devoid of integrity.  This has happened because of the collapse of scientific culture. Money takes precedence over integrity and truth.

If career pressures on scientists are sufficient to move aside integrity and commitment to truth, what is happening elsewhere in a society where the governing standards are weaker? Science is a foundational basis.  If it is destroyed, as is happening in front of our eyes, civilization is destroyed.

Pentagon to create “Ukraine command”

1031 views
1 min read

This is a serious development.

As I have said over and over, the Kremlin’s go-slow limited military operation is a fatal mistake resulting in a wider war. An operation that should have been concluded in a week is now in its seventh month and seems destined to continue indefinitely as the Kremlin does nothing to disrupt the Ukrainian government’s war effort or the endless supplies of weapons that the West pours into Ukraine. The long-running conflict has allowed Western propaganda to portray the Russian military as unsuccessful and to convince Western decision-makers that Russia can be defeated in Ukraine. This conviction has led to ever higher states of Western involvement.

With the Pentagon’s creation of a “Ukraine Command,” we move closer to the introduction of US troops. In fact, US military forces are already involved. They train Ukraine’s soldiers at the US Army’s European Headquarters in Wiesbaden, Germany, thus committing Germany to the intervention in Ukraine. US military personnel provide targeting information for Ukraine’s attacks on Russian positions. Yet, despite the growing involvement of US/NATO, the Kremlin holds on to its limited operation, dangerous in its failure and miscalculation, as Russia’s dilly-dallying has convinced the West that the Kremlin has no stomach for real conflict, encouraging Washington to take another step toward sending troops by forming a “Ukraine Command.”

Putin’s emphasis on legalisms might be the undoing of Russia. The Kremlin could have avoided the Ukraine conflict by doing in 2014 what it is doing, belatedly, in 2022–accept the Donbass Russians’ request to be returned to Russia. The Kremlin could have avoided the US/NATO military commitment to Ukraine by knocking out Ukraine before the West had time to react.

Blunders have a cost, and the cost of the Kremlin’s blunders is developing into direct conflict between US and Russian soldiers.

Edward Snowden: A Russian Citizen

Yesterday Edward Snowden was granted Russian citizenship. Snowden had to flee his country, because he released information that proved that the NSA was, and still is, illegally spying on US citizens.  The presstitutes will use Snowden’s grant of citizenship as proof that he was a Russian spy, not a patriotic whistleblower trying to alert his countrymen to their danger.

I would like to give some background. Edward Snowden was the second American who blew the whistle about illegal NSA spying on American citizens.

William Binney was the first.  Binney was a Russian specialist with the National Security Agency.  He developed the spy program that was supposed to be used against America’s enemies, but was illegally used against the American population.  Binney, despite being the NSA Geopolitical World Technical Director, a high position, blew the whistle on the illegal activity, comparing it to activities of the KGB, Stasi, Gestapo, and SS.

As a consequence, the US government decided to destroy him.  In July 2007 a dozen heavily armed FBI Gestapo broke into his home and arrested him while he was taking a shower.  His economic livelihood was destroyed, and the government attempted to prosecute him.

However, Binney exposed the illegal spying internally through the official whistleblower program, and he did not take any documents as proof of the illegal spying on US citizens. As a result of these precautions, Binney could not be prosecuted, and the information that the US government was illegally spying on its own citizens did not get out.

Speaking before the German Bundestag in July 2014, Binney said that NSA was using totalitarian methods that previously had only been used by dictatorships. He said that Washington’s goal was to monitor the whole American population, including those abroad, which stands in contradiction of the US Constitution.

As Binney had taken no documents, he could supply no proof, and the US media disposed of him as a crackpot who turned against his country.

Consequently, Edward Snowden who knew first-hand that the NSA was illegally and unconstitutionally spying on US citizens took and released the documents to prove it. This effort to wake up insouciant Americans meant that he would be arrested on national security grounds. Snowden realized that and released the documents to Glenn Greenwald in Asia and escaped capture by China permitting his passage to Russia. The whore US media used Snowden’s escape via China to Russia as proof that he was a spy, and used this false story to prevent Americans from understanding that it was their own government, not Snowden, who was betraying them.

That Russia has belatedly granted Snowden citizenship will be used by the US presstitute media as proof that he is a Russian spy out to discredit the NSA.  Many Americans, the least educated and aware of all peoples, will fall for this story.

What does this tell us?

It tells us that it is difficult, and perhaps impossible, for even high government officials who turn whistleblower to awaken the American people.

Americans have no idea of anything that is really happening in the world. They only get officially approved narratives handed to a media that serves only as a Ministry of Propaganda.  I am a former editor at the Wall Street Journal.  There is no one in American print and TV media today that has enough integrity for them to be hired by the WSJ four decades ago when I was an editor.

In the United States today dissent from the official narratives that serve secret agendas implies that you are a kook conspiracy theorist and more recently that you are a foreign operative against your country.  It will not be long in the US before any disagreement from official narratives is grounds for arrest.

So, to be clear, in the US today facts not only do not matter, but they are dangerous to those who speak them.

USA: Why Is the FR Collapsing the Economy?

/

The Federal Reserve ( FR) has a long record of mistaken decisions.  Unless the Federal Reserve’s intent is to collapse the economy, the current policy of higher interest rates will go down as the most mistaken reading of the economy since the Great Depression.

Prices are rising sharply in Germany, UK, and Europe, but not because of an increase in money creation. They are rising because US Sanctions against Russia have reduced the supply of energy and disrupted transportation. Supply reductions have driven up prices of everything dependent on energy and transportation.

The US is not experiencing these problems to the same extent.  Energy prices have risen some because companies are taking advantage of the situation.

In the US higher prices are due to shortages resulting from the lockdowns that closed businesses and broke supply chains.  In America’s global world, problems abroad restrict supply here.  The point is that inflation is not monetary inflation. Therefore, the Federal Reserve’s policy of raising interest rates is nonsensical. Higher interest rates just add to costs, shrink supply, and mean higher prices.

If the Federal Reserve actually knows what it is doing, it is intentionally trying to cause an economic collapse, which makes me wonder if the Federal Reserve is in league with Klaus Schwab’s WEA plan to cause crises that can be used to establish a heavy-handed rule.

The latest news in the US, if not fabricated, is that consumer demand is collapsing.  Federal Express reports that its business is hurting because orders are declining. Merchants report that consumer traffic is off. The real estate market has been brought to a halt. It is mindless for the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates in the face of collapsing consumer demand.

So the real question is: what is the Federal Reserve really up to?

9/11 After 21 Years

Today is the 21st anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center in New York City. There has never been an official US investigation of the attack. After much pressure from families of those who died in the collapse of the towers, the White House finally and most reluctantly assembled a 9/11 Commission consisting largely of politicians and a neoconservative staff director to sit and listen to the government’s narrative and to write it down. This is what comprised the 9/11 Commission Report. Afterwards the commission’s co-chairmen and legal counsel wrote books in which they said the 9/11 Commission was set up to fail, that resources and information were withheld from the Commission, and that the Commission considered referring criminal charges to the Department of Justice against some of the government officials who falsely testified before the commission. These confessions were ignored by the presstitutes and had no effect on the government’s highly implausible narrative.

NIST’s account of the collapse is simply a computer simulation that delivered the results NIST programed into the simulation.

For 21 years I reported on the independent investigations and findings of scientists, scholars, engineers, and architects that concluded on the basis of hard evidence that the government’s narrative was a false account. Initially, the distinguished scientists, architects, and engineers who rejected the official narrative were characterized by the presstitutes as “conspiracy theorists,” following the line the CIA had employed against experts who disputed the official narrative of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination. However, over time the efforts of Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth convinced more and more Americans that the official story was false. In recent years polls have shown that half of those polled no longer believe the official narrative.

It was obvious to me early that 9/11 was an inside job, a false flag event blamed on Muslims in order to justify two decades of a “war on terror” whose purpose was to destroy Israel’s Middle Eastern opponents who were funding Hezbollah, the Lebanese militia that twice drove the vaunted Israeli Army out of Israel’s attempted occupation of southern Lebanon. If Hezbollah’s supporters–Iraq, Syria and Iran–could be eliminated, Israel could seize the water resource in southern Lebanon. This, and profits and power for the US military/security complex are all the “war on terror” was about.

The reason it was obvious to me that 9/11 was an inside job is that, as it was presented, it amounted to the worse humiliation a superpower had suffered in all of recorded history. A handful of young Saudi Arabians without support of any state or security agency had delivered a crushing blow to the image of the United States. The almighty National Security Apparatus was incapable of warding off a handful of foreigners who, magically, caused US airport security to fail four times on the same morning, hijack 4 airliners, cause the US military to conduct a simulation of the attack at the same time an actual attack was occurring, thus causing massive confusion that prevented the US Air Force from intercepting the hijacked airliners. The young men also prevented VP Dick Cheney, who was monitoring “the attack on America,” from blocking the attack on the Pentagon.

When you look at this record of extraordinary failure of the multi-trillion dollar National Security State and hear no demand from the President of the United States, the Pentagon and Joint Chiefs of Staff, Congress, and the media for investigation and accountability for the government’s total failure, hearing instead opposition to any inquiry, you know for an absolute fact that the highest levels of the US government were responsible for the attack in order to unleash war on the Middle East, just as Pearl Harbor was a Roosevelt orchestration to get the US into a war that Congress and the American people opposed.

If in fact the US government believed its narrative, the government, embarrassed to the hilt, would have been demanding explanation and accountability. There would have been endless investigation. Many heads would have rolled. I spent a quarter century in Washington, and I know for a fact that the government would not have been content to assemble a Commission and then read an implausible account to them and call that an investigation of America’s and their own humiliation.

What the government did instead of an investigation was to quickly destroy all the evidence. The massive steel beams of the towers clearly cut at an angle by high temperature explosives were quickly collected over objections by fire marshals, shipped out of the country in order to get rid of the evidence, and sold as scrap metal in Asia. No explanation or even admission was given for the molten steel still under the ruble weeks after the event. The testimony of more than a hundred, firemen, police, and building maintenance workers that they experienced explosions all over the towers, including one in the basement before the alleged airliners even hit the towers, was ignored. That the three buildings collapsed into their own footprints as in controlled demolition was ignored. That the BBC reporter announced the collapse of the third building 30 minutes before it happened while she was standing in front of the still standing building was ignored.

But Americans were sitting ducks for their deception, as they always are. Americans, self-righteous, content in the goodness of their country with the belief reinforced by patriotism and flag-waving were pleased to believe that they were attacked, as President Bush said, because America is so good.

One wonders if today, after 21 years of Identity Politics, Aversive Racism, Critical Race Theory, transgender theory, the NY Times’ 1619 Project, the demonization of our Founding Fathers, destruction of their reputations and removal of their statues, and the glorification of perversity, Americans would still have the confidence in their goodness to fall victim to another 9/11 deception?

Perhaps they would. Many of them seem to have fallen for “we have to save the liberty of Ukraine from Putin,” by which is really meant is that “we must save the Biden family’s and the Democrats’ money laundering operation in Ukraine.” The insouciant Americans sent over billions of dollars, and the money comes back, with a cut taken out for Zelensky and his henchmen, to the Democrats for advice, consulting fees, facilitators of wartime needs.

In recorded history there have been corrupt empires, but the American one takes the cake. It might yet take our lives.

Mikhail Gorbachev R.I.P.

/

Mikhail Gorbachev was the first President of the Soviet Union and the last Soviet leader. He was the best of the younger generation of Communist Party members who understood, like US President Ronald Reagan, the futility of the Cold War and the needless threat of nuclear Armageddon. Gorbachev also understood that the repressions and hardships of the Soviet years were unnecessary, and he with advisors, some of whom I met and engaged in discussion, attempted to reform the Soviet system. There is no question that he was a great man and a sincere leader of the Soviet peoples.

President Reagan realized Gorbachev’s greatness. Reagan also realized that Gorbachev was limited in his ability to end the Cold War by distrustful elements in the Politburo. President Reagan’s plan, in which I was a participant, was to rescue the US economy from “stagflation” and then to put pressure of a threatened arms race–Star Wars– on the Soviet Union in order to enhance Gorbachev’s position in favor of ending the Cold War than to subject the struggling Soviet economy to an arms race with a revitalized US economy.

Reagan, despite the CIA’s opposition and that of the US military/security complex, carried out his plan not in order to win the cold war but as Reagan repeatedly stressed to all of us involved to end the Cold War. None of us, Reagan included, had any idea of Soviet collapse. Our purpose was to halt a gratuitous conflict that threatened humanity with nuclear Armageddon.

What we did not realize was that hardline elements of the Soviet Communist Party thought that Gorbachev was making too many concessions to the West too soon without sufficient reciprocal concessions and guarantees. Apparently, Gorbachev himself did not realize it.

Reagan proceeded with care. He invited Gorbachev to the White House. Reagan convinced the distinguished American pianist, Van Cliburn, to come out of retirement and perform for Gorbachev in the White House. Van Cliburn had won, with Khrushchev’s approval, the inaugural International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow in 1958. In addition to classics of Russian composers, Van Cliburn regaled Gorbachev with Russian folk songs. President Reagan absolutely forbade any derogatory reference to the Soviet Union. Nothing, not even the CIA, was to prevent the end of the Cold War.

After Reagan’s second term ended, I had less connection with his successor, his former vice president, George H. W. Bush, but I know for an absolute fact that Secretary of State James Baker gave assurances to Gorbachev that if Gorbachev permitted the unification of Germany, NATO would not move one inch to the East. There is no doubt about this, despite the denials by American neoconservatives and Clinton regime officials.

The Soviet Union collapsed, not because of Reagan, but because the hardline Communists, disturbed, as is understandable, by Gorbachev’s trust in Washington’s word, attempted a coup and placed Gorbachev under house arrest. It was this miscalculation that brought about the collapse of the Soviet government and the rise of Yeltsin, who, intentionally or not, essentially was under Washington’s control.

Gorbachev, believing as did Reagan, in the futility of the Cold War, trusted that the conflict was over. Gorbachev’s mistake was that he did not understand Washington. An American President can make an agreement that can be rescinded by a successor. This is the case even if there are signed documents, but in the absence of signed documents, the corrupt Clinton regime was able to claim no such agreement as NATO not moving to Russia’s borders ever existed.

In view of the Democrat Clinton regime’s overthrowing the Reagan-Gorbachev ending of the Cold War with a New Cold War, now greatly expanded under the Democrat Biden, the Kremlin’s toleration of the West’s declared aggressive intentions against Russia is puzzling. How can anyone in the Kremlin ever again believe a word that Washington says?

In Russia Gorbachev is not seen as the great leader that he was. In America, ignorant flag-waving patriots mistakenly base their pride on Reagan winning the Cold War.

As far as I, a participant, can tell, neither side understands what has happened.

In Defense of Alex Jones

Carefully indoctrinated hatred of Alex Jones is the basis for the $49 million civil trial award to an alleged parent who says he was defamed by Alex Jones’ reporting about the alleged Sandy Hook school shootings. I use the word “alleged” because I personally do not know if the claims of the “defamed” person are true, and I do not know if the official narrative of the shooting is true.

They might be. If so, I can understand how a parent could be offended by Alex Jones’ reporting, but how is the parent defamed? If he is a parent of a Sandy Hook school shooting victim, my heart goes out to him, and Alex Jones was wrong in his conclusion. But being wrong in one’s conclusion is not defamation.

The important question is why don’t I know what actually happened? Why don’t I know who is right, the parent or Alex Jones? The answer is that the media failed.

The media ignored alleged evidence brought by independent investigators, such as announcements that a school shooting drill was to be held to practice evacuating kids from school; conflicting video evidence; photos that were photoshopped and used to establish parent-child relationships; claims that the school had been closed for mold reasons; and so on.

I don’t know if any of these claims are valid. What I do know is that the media did nothing at all to show me evidence that they were untrue. It would have been easy for a reporter to find out whether the school was actually in use and to report the fact. It would have been easy to find out if a shooting drill was held. If so many kids were killed, how did the removal of the body bags from the shooting and the funerals of the victims escape reporting? I remember that there was a controversy over a death certificate of one of the alleged victims. A couple of experts testified that the certificate was a forgery. This was astounding, but the media provided no explanation.

So, whereas I do not know what happened, I can see why Alex Jones would conclude that the shooting was an organized hoax. For what reason? Perhaps to further gun control or to plant the idea in the public’s mind of “domestic terrorism” or both.

If one steps back and takes a look at Sandy Hook and the evasion of needed explanations, one is reminded of the assassinations of John and Robert Kennedy, the Gulf of Tonkin, Serbia, 9/11, Saddam Hussein’s “weapons of mass destruction,” “Assad’s use of chemical weapons,” the blatant lies told by government officials and media about Libya and Gaddafi, Russiagate, January 6 “Insurrection,” and now the fifth version of “Trumpgate.” These are all assertions without evidence. If they lie to us about really Big Things, they will also lie to us about school shootings and everything else.

Lew Rockwell, a man who stands for liberty, always a good recommendation for a person, published his defense of Alex Jones, “The Lynching of an American Hero” — https://www.lewrockwell.com/2022/08/lew-rockwell/the-lynching-of-an-american-hero/ He lists the massive good Jones has done on so many fronts, taking the heat for exposing official but false narratives, and he wonders why one mistake, if indeed a mistake was made, suffices to close the mouth of a truth-teller.

Ron Unz, whose tolerant website is open to otherwise blocked views, keeps his distance from Alex Jones, but he points out in Jones’ defense that Michael Collins Piper showed that Cass Sunstein’s proposal for the security services to infiltrate truth tellers and mislead them with false information in order to discredit them might have claimed Alex Jones as a victim.

If it is true that Alex Jones is the victim of planted disinformation about Sandy Hook, who is responsible for the “defamation” of the parent? Alex Jones or those who misled Alex Jones with false information?

Americans, being an insouciant people who, in their unawareness, feel secure, do not understand that what they hear as “news” is disinformation used to indoctrinate them into a programmed consciousness. Most Americans are incapable of thinking for themselves. Their thoughts are governed by their peers and by CNN, NPR, New York Times and the rest of those who lie to them every minute of every day.

The total failure of the US media as a watchdog has created a new problem that requires legislation. If an American misled by fake news makes an incorrect charge or statement that results in a law suit, who is guilty, the person or the media that lied to him?

This is a new legal problem of our time.
