Alphabet Inc., the parent company of Google, has crossed the $3 trillion market capitalization milestone for the first time, cementing its position among the world’s most valuable companies. The achievement follows a sharp rally in the company’s shares, which have climbed more than 30 percent over the past few weeks to a record high of around $252.

The surge was fueled by robust second-quarter earnings released in late July, where Alphabet reported double-digit revenue and profit growth. Quarterly revenues reached $96.4 billion, up 14 percent year on year, driven by strong advertising demand on Google Search and YouTube, as well as accelerating momentum in Google Cloud. The cloud division expanded by more than 30 percent, supported by rising demand for AI-powered services and enterprise adoption of its infrastructure. Net income rose nearly 19 percent, while earnings per share climbed over 20 percent.

Investor confidence also strengthened after a recent U.S. court ruling allowed Alphabet to maintain control over key assets such as Chrome and the Android operating system, easing fears of forced divestitures. With regulatory uncertainty reduced, markets rewarded the stock as analysts raised their price targets, some projecting shares could climb as high as $280 in the coming months.

Alphabet now stands alongside Apple, Microsoft, and Nvidia in the exclusive $3 trillion club. Among them, Nvidia remains the frontrunner after surpassing $4 trillion earlier this year, riding a wave of global demand for artificial intelligence chips. Alphabet’s rise highlights how tech giants are consolidating their dominance in both AI innovation and digital infrastructure.

Despite the historic valuation, challenges remain. Alphabet continues to face regulatory scrutiny in both the United States and Europe over advertising practices, data privacy, and its growing influence across digital markets. Nevertheless, the company’s pivot toward AI and cloud computing is increasingly seen as its next growth engine, moving it beyond its reliance on online advertising.

With Wall Street betting heavily on AI’s transformative potential, Alphabet’s ascent past $3 trillion marks a defining moment in Silicon Valley’s race for technological supremacy. Investors are now watching whether the company can sustain this momentum and compete head-to-head with its trillion-dollar peers in the next era of digital growth.
