Authorities in Nanjing have arrested a 60-year-old man suspected of disguising himself as a woman to secretly record others without their knowledge, police confirmed on Monday.

The suspect, known online as “Hong Jie” or “Sister Red,” reportedly used a simple disguise—wig, makeup, and clothing—to carry out the deception. According to reports, he lured individuals to a private location and recorded them without consent, later sharing the footage online.

The incident has sparked discussions on social media about privacy, consent, and online safety. Authorities have cautioned that some claims circulating online may be exaggerated and have emphasized that distributing recordings of others without permission is illegal.

Legal experts have noted that such actions could result in serious criminal charges. The investigation is ongoing.
