Iran is reportedly preparing for a significant retaliatory military operation against Israel, according to a senior source cited by Fars News Agency. The potential strike, described as a “very big” operation, comes amid mounting tensions following Israeli airstrikes on Iranian territory, including reported attacks on nuclear facilities.
State-affiliated SNN News has reported that Iran may initiate the offensive within hours, specifically targeting Israeli military infrastructure. Evacuation orders have reportedly been issued in Israeli-occupied territories as both sides brace for further escalation.
On Monday night, Iranian armed forces launched a new wave of missile strikes into Israeli-held territory, in what Tehran describes as a direct response to what it calls “unprovoked Israeli aggression.” According to Iranian officials, the retaliatory barrage was part of a broader campaign dubbed Operation True Promise III, aimed at deterring further attacks and asserting Iran’s right to self-defense.
A spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Esmaeil Baqaei, condemned the Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, calling them a “dangerous precedent” and a violation of international law. Speaking at a press conference in Tehran, Baqaei emphasized that Iran’s nuclear activities remain peaceful and are fully compliant with United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolution 2231.
He called on European nations to take a firm stance against Israel’s military actions, urging them to uphold the integrity of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and to condemn what he described as an “unjustified and illegal” assault on Iran’s sovereign rights.
“Iran’s nuclear program is alive,” Baqaei said. “Our activities are under the strictest inspections by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and we will not tolerate baseless accusations or attempts to undermine our legitimate rights.”
The Iranian government has repeatedly stated that while its nuclear program remains peaceful, it will respond forcefully to any threat against its sovereignty or national security. Monday’s missile barrage marks the latest in a series of escalating confrontations between Iran and Israel, raising concerns of a broader regional conflict.
