The 9th edition of the multinational maritime exercise Aman 2025, hosted by the Pakistan Navy, came to a spectacular conclusion today in the Northern Arabian Sea with the grand International Fleet Review. This year’s exercise saw the participation of nearly 60 countries, contributing a diverse array of naval warships, aircraft, marines, special operations forces, and a large number of observers.
The highlight of the closing ceremony was the International Fleet Review, where naval warships from Pakistan and foreign nations formed the impressive “Aman Formation,” a powerful symbol of unity and commitment to peace. The review, held under the exercise’s motto, “United for Peace,” reinforced Pakistan’s dedication to promoting global peace and maritime security through cooperation with other nations.
The Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Upon his arrival at the Pakistan Navy Ship Moawin, he was warmly welcomed by the Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf. Other notable attendees included the Governor of Sindh, the Chief Minister of Sindh, the Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, as well as ambassadors, high commissioners, and senior military officials from the participating countries.
During the International Fleet Review, the Chief Guest had the opportunity to witness several operational exercises, demonstrating the high level of preparedness and professionalism of the participating naval forces. A spectacular flypast was performed by aircraft from the Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Air Force, and the air forces of the participating countries, followed by the demonstration of the naval “Man and Cheer Ship” tradition, which is a gesture of respect and camaraderie among maritime forces.
The exercise culminated in the formation of the traditional Aman Formation, a visual representation of the collective resolve for ensuring maritime security, safety, and prosperity for all nations.
In his remarks, General Syed Asim Munir congratulated the Pakistan Navy for successfully hosting Aman 2025 and commended the nation’s continuous commitment to peace and stability. He extended his gratitude to the regional and global naval forces for their collaborative efforts in ensuring maritime security.
“Through this exercise, Aman 2025 has emerged as a crucial platform for global naval cooperation,” said General Munir. “It brings together naval forces from across the world under the shared objective of ensuring ‘Safe Seas, Prosperous Future.’ The remarkable participation of navies from around the globe highlights the importance of mutual cooperation in maritime security.”
For the first time, the Aman Dialogue was held alongside the exercise, providing a unique platform for naval leaders to engage in discussions on global maritime challenges and the way forward for collective action.
As the exercise concluded, participants reaffirmed their commitment to a peaceful, secure, and prosperous maritime domain, underscoring the vital role of collaboration in safeguarding international waters.
