Hamas has issued a statement outlining its stance on the outcome of the U.S. presidential election, emphasizing that its position toward the new American administration will depend on the actions it takes regarding the Palestinian cause. The group stressed that the elected U.S. president must consider the views of the American public, particularly those calling for an end to the ongoing violence in Gaza.

The statement reaffirmed Hamas’ unwavering commitment to Palestinian self-determination, rejecting any approach that undermines the right of Palestinians to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. Hamas further highlighted the necessity of addressing the broader issue of Palestinian freedom and sovereignty, warning that any U.S. policy perceived as detrimental to these goals would not be accepted.

In contrast, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu extended a congratulatory message to former President Donald Trump following his historic election victory, calling it “history’s greatest comeback.” Netanyahu expressed optimism about the future of U.S.-Israel relations, stating that Trump’s return to the White House signals a renewed commitment to the strong alliance between the two nations. In his message, Netanyahu wrote, “This is a huge victory!” He concluded by sending his regards in a personal note, signed, “In true friendship, yours, Benjamin and Sara Netanyahu.”
