Iran has mobilized more than one million combatants in preparation for a potential ground invasion by United States forces, marking a dramatic escalation in an already volatile regional conflict. The announcement comes as the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps launched its 82nd wave of coordinated attacks targeting U.S. and Israeli assets, underscoring Tehran’s readiness for prolonged confrontation.
According to military sources, Iranian ground forces have demonstrated a surge in morale and readiness following what authorities describe as joint aggression by the United States and Israel that began on February 28. The escalation was reportedly triggered by the assassination of Ali Khamenei, an event that has reshaped the country’s political and military posture and fueled calls for retaliation.
Officials indicate that in addition to the one million organized fighters, thousands of young Iranians have volunteered in recent days to join military ranks. Recruitment centers linked to the Basij forces, IRGC units, and the national army have reported a sharp increase in applications, reflecting a wave of nationalist mobilization across the country. Military sources have warned that any ground incursion could lead to what they described as a “historic hell” for invading forces on Iranian soil.
Tensions have also intensified around the strategic Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil shipping route. Iranian officials signaled that they are prepared for scenarios in which the waterway could be contested or even closed, framing such developments as part of a broader defensive strategy against potential U.S. intervention.
The conflict has already seen extensive military exchanges. U.S. and Israeli forces have carried out large-scale airstrikes across Iran, targeting both military and civilian infrastructure, resulting in significant casualties and widespread damage. In retaliation, Iranian forces have launched waves of missile and drone attacks against American and Israeli positions in the region, including bases and contested territories.
With both sides escalating rhetoric and military action, the situation is rapidly evolving into one of the most dangerous confrontations in recent history, raising global concerns over the risk of a wider war that could disrupt energy markets and destabilize the broader Middle East.
