Meanwhile, conservative commentator Candace Owens is facing a 219-page defamation lawsuit filed by French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron. The suit, lodged in Delaware earlier this week, accuses Owens of spreading “false and defamatory” claims—including that Brigitte Macron is transgender, the Macrons are related by blood, and that President Macron is a product of a CIA mind control program.

Owens, who has 4.5 million subscribers on YouTube, defiantly responded in a new video Wednesday: “You were born a man and you’ll die a man,” she said, addressing the First Lady. “I’m fully prepared to take on this battle on behalf of the entire world.”

The Macrons argue that Owens used their names to “gain notoriety, make money,” and engage in “relentless bullying on a worldwide scale.” The lawsuit includes extensive evidence, such as childhood photos, birth records, and documentation of Brigitte Macron’s family life.

Macron’s legal team called the suit a “last resort,” stating that Owens ignored multiple warnings to cease her online attacks.

The case revives a long-running conspiracy theory that first gained traction in 2021 through French bloggers Amandine Roy and Natacha Rey. A recent ruling from a Paris appeals court overturned fines previously imposed on the bloggers, citing their “good faith” and framing the allegations as protected expressions of belief—a decision that may complicate the Macrons’ legal strategy in the U.S.

As both legal and technological dramas unfold, the world watches two influential figures—Elon Musk and Emmanuel Macron—navigate crises that straddle the intersection of politics, free speech, and global influence.
