Zhongji Innolight Co., a leading Chinese manufacturer of optical communication modules and devices, is exploring a potential listing in Hong Kong, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter. The move would mark a major step for the fast-growing company as it seeks to capitalize on booming demand for data infrastructure and artificial intelligence technologies.

The Shandong-based firm is working with financial advisers on the possible share sale, the sources said, requesting anonymity as the discussions remain private. The plans are still in the early stages, and details such as the size and timing of the offering are under consideration. A company representative did not immediately respond to requests for comment during the holidays in China.

Zhongji Innolight produces optical transceivers used in cloud computing systems, data centers, and telecommunications networks. The company’s Shenzhen-listed shares have soared 227% this year, giving it a market capitalization of about 450 billion yuan, or roughly $63 billion. The surge reflects rising investor optimism about the firm’s position in the global AI supply chain and its exposure to next-generation data infrastructure spending.

If the listing goes ahead, Innolight would join a growing number of mainland Chinese companies turning to Hong Kong to raise funds, many seeking capital for international expansion. According to Bloomberg data, initial public offering proceeds in Hong Kong have reached nearly $24 billion in 2025, putting the city on track for its strongest fundraising year since 2021.

Innolight would be among the largest mainland firms eyeing a Hong Kong debut, alongside Shenzhen Mindray Bio-Medical Electronics Co. and AirPods maker Luxshare Precision Industry Co., which filed for listings earlier this year. The momentum highlights renewed investor appetite for high-tech Chinese firms amid a global surge in artificial intelligence investment.

In its most recent earnings report, Innolight posted a 69% increase in first-half net income, pushing its shares to record highs and lifting sentiment across the broader Chinese optics sector. As global demand for computing power accelerates, Bloomberg noted that a Hong Kong listing could help the company strengthen its capital base and extend its technological reach beyond China’s borders.
