The office of the Dalai Lama has issued a firm denial rejecting claims circulating in media reports and on social media that attempt to link the Tibetan spiritual leader to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein. In a brief press statement released on February 8, the office said the allegations were entirely unfounded.
According to the statement, His Holiness the Dalai Lama has never met Jeffrey Epstein and has never authorised any meeting, communication, or interaction with him, either directly or indirectly. The office described suggestions of any connection as false and misleading.
The clarification follows renewed online speculation surrounding so-called “Epstein files,” which have prompted a wave of unverified claims and renewed scrutiny of public figures worldwide. The Dalai Lama’s office said the statement was issued to address confusion and prevent the spread of misinformation.
The Dalai Lama, a globally recognised advocate for peace, compassion, and nonviolence, has long maintained a public life centred on spiritual teaching and humanitarian work. His representatives did not indicate any further action beyond the statement, underscoring that the denial was unequivocal and final.
The statement concluded by reaffirming that no meeting or interaction with Epstein ever took place and that no representative ever acted on the Dalai Lama’s behalf in any such matter, directly contradicting claims circulating online.
