Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has denounced a devastating attack on a primary school in Minab, where graves are being prepared for more than 160 young girls killed in what Tehran calls a US‑Israeli bombing. Araghchi described the scene as horrific, with bodies torn apart, and criticized the notion of “rescue” promised by the United States as a hollow claim in the face of such destruction.
He framed the tragedy as part of a wider pattern of civilian suffering, saying that from Gaza to Minab, innocents are being murdered in cold blood. The attack has been portrayed by Iranian officials as a war crime, and Tehran has warned that it will not go unanswered, raising fears of further escalation in a region already on edge.
The bombing struck the Shajareh Tayyebeh girls’ school during daylight hours, making it one of the deadliest single incidents in the latest surge of hostilities. Iranian authorities report that rescuers and family members are still recovering bodies and searching through rubble, highlighting the scale of the humanitarian disaster. While the United States has acknowledged reports of civilian harm and said investigations are underway, Iranian officials have demanded accountability, condemning the attack as an unforgivable assault on children and civilians.
