The Algerian-Global NGO Coalition, an alliance of 62 organizations from 40 countries across all continents, has issued an urgent call for general mobilization in response to the ongoing human rights violations, crimes against humanity, and war crimes taking place in the Gaza Strip and other Palestinian territories. The coalition expressed deep regret over the deteriorating situation, particularly amid escalating efforts by the United States to forcibly displace the Palestinian population and undermine their national cause.

The coalition strongly condemned recent statements by former U.S. President Donald Trump, in which he advocated for the permanent displacement of Palestinians from Gaza to neighboring countries such as Jordan and Egypt. Such remarks, the coalition argues, constitute a blatant violation of international law, including the Fourth Geneva Convention. Article 49 of this convention explicitly prohibits the forced transfer or deportation of protected persons from occupied territories. Trump’s statements, made while the Israeli occupation persists, align with policies of ethnic cleansing and systematic displacement.

Further, the coalition highlighted the violation of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, which defines deportation or forcible transfer of a population as both a crime against humanity and a war crime. Article 7 of the statute classifies such actions as part of a widespread or systematic attack against a civilian population, while Article 8 prohibits the transfer of an occupying power’s civilian population into occupied territory or the deportation of its indigenous population. The coalition asserts that Trump’s remarks indicate a deliberate plan to empty Gaza of its indigenous people, thereby meeting the criteria for these serious crimes.

Additionally, the coalition emphasized the violation of the Palestinian people’s right of return under international law. United Nations General Assembly Resolutions 194 and 3236 affirm the inalienable right of Palestinians to return to their homes and properties. Trump’s dismissal of this right and his claims that Palestinians “do not wish to return” further reinforce policies of forced displacement, which the coalition decried as a continuation of historical injustices against the Palestinian people.

In light of these grave violations, the Algerian-Global NGO Coalition has called upon all individuals, organizations, and governments worldwide to take immediate action to uphold human rights, demand accountability for war crimes, and work towards justice and stability. The coalition has urged the International Criminal Court to invoke Article 25 of the Rome Statute, which holds individuals accountable for planning, inciting, or participating in international crimes. It specifically called for the prosecution of Trump for his statements, which amount to incitement to forced transfer. Furthermore, the coalition urged the ICC to investigate his role in facilitating such plans, holding him accountable for crimes including forced displacement, deportation, and extermination.

The coalition also called upon the global community to continue supporting the Palestinian people in their struggle for justice. It urged activists and human rights defenders to sustain worldwide protests and peaceful demonstrations against these violations. In its closing statement, the coalition reaffirmed its belief in the rule of law and international justice, declaring that “the law is above all, and the truth shall prevail.”
