Apple Inc. is preparing an ambitious slate of new devices — including household robots, a lifelike version of Siri, a smart speaker with a display, and home-security cameras — as part of a bid to reassert itself in the artificial intelligence race, Bloomberg reported.

The centerpiece is a tabletop robotic companion targeted for 2027, capable of swiveling its display to follow users, engaging in conversations, and suggesting actions in real time. It will run on a revamped Siri assistant with a visual “Bubbles” personality, aiming to make AI interactions feel more human-like. Apple is also developing a smaller smart-home display for release next year, a new AI-powered home security system anchored by connected cameras, and an updated Siri built on large language models.

Bloomberg said Apple shares rose nearly 2% Wednesday after news of the plans broke, climbing to $233.70 in New York trading. The report highlights Apple’s broader smart-home push, code-named “Charismatic,” which will integrate voice control, facial recognition, and multiuser customization.

The product roadmap comes as Apple looks to recover from slowing iPhone sales, the disappointing debut of its Vision Pro headset, and criticism for lagging behind rivals like OpenAI, Samsung, and Meta in generative AI. Bloomberg noted that CEO Tim Cook has told employees Apple must “win in AI,” teasing upcoming launches that could span from smart glasses and foldable devices to a 20th anniversary iPhone.

While many products are still in early development and could change or be scrapped, Bloomberg’s reporting suggests Apple is betting heavily on AI hardware as the next driver of growth — and as a way to keep its ecosystem sticky in the face of intensifying competition.
