Representatives of various Palestinian factions signed a declaration in Beijing on Tuesday, committing to end longstanding divisions and work towards greater unity. The historic agreement marks a pivotal step in the ongoing efforts to foster political cohesion and stability within the Palestinian territories.

The declaration, inked in the presence of Chinese officials, underscores the collective resolve of the Palestinian factions to overcome internal rifts that have long hindered their unified stance on critical issues. This commitment to unity is seen as a crucial move towards addressing the political and socio-economic challenges faced by the Palestinian people.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who facilitated the discussions, lauded the agreement as a milestone for peace and stability in the region. He reiterated China’s support for the Palestinian cause and expressed hope that the declaration would pave the way for a more cohesive and effective Palestinian leadership.

“The unity of the Palestinian factions is essential for the pursuit of their legitimate rights and aspirations,” Wang Yi stated. “China remains committed to supporting these efforts and promoting peace in the Middle East.”
