Sri Lankan security forces have reportedly convened a special meeting to assess the nation’s security in the wake of recent bomb blasts in neighboring India and Pakistan.

A senior security official stated that Sri Lanka is closely monitoring the incidents and that the government’s intelligence services remain on high alert. Separate intelligence teams have been deployed to provide timely reports and updates to the government regarding any potential threats.

The blasts occurred on consecutive days. On the 10th, a car bomb exploded near India’s historic Red Fort in Delhi, killing nine people and injuring more than twenty. Indian investigators described the attack as a new form of “white-collar terrorism,” reportedly carried out by highly educated professionals.

The following day, Pakistani media reported a bomb explosion near a court building in Islamabad, resulting in nine deaths and 21 serious injuries.

Despite the developments in neighboring countries, Sri Lanka’s Minister of Public Security recently commented that these incidents do not currently pose a direct threat to national security in Sri Lanka.

Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and have emphasized the importance of vigilance amid regional security concerns.
