The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba lambasted the United States’ recent announcement of measures ostensibly aimed at supporting the Cuban private sector. Characterizing the move as a feeble attempt to mask its hostile agenda, Cuban officials declared their steadfast resistance against what they perceive as yet another assault on their sovereignty.
With blistering criticism, Cuban authorities dismissed the U.S. policy shift as woefully inadequate, failing to address the root issues of the crippling blockade and punitive sanctions that have shackled the Cuban economy for decades. The Ministry condemned the purported attempt to compartmentalize Cuba’s economic landscape, highlighting the interconnectedness of the private and public sectors within the country’s entrepreneurial framework.
Emphasizing the indiscriminate suffering inflicted by the blockade, Cuban officials scorned the selective nature of the announced measures, which they argued disproportionately target a segment of the population while disregarding the broader impact on Cuba’s economy and public services. They accused the U.S. government of exploiting the private sector as a pawn in its relentless campaign to undermine the Cuban Revolution and impose its agenda of regime change.
Further intensifying the rhetoric, Cuban authorities condemned what they perceive as a deliberate strategy by the United States to cripple essential services provided by the state sector, including education, healthcare, culture, and sports, vital to the welfare of all Cubans.
Undeterred by external pressure, the Cuban government reaffirmed its commitment to defending its sovereignty and pledged to scrutinize the announced measures meticulously. While indicating a willingness to consider implementation if found to genuinely benefit the Cuban people, officials made it clear that any concessions would not come at the expense of national dignity or sovereignty.
