A groundbreaking claim has emerged from British filmmaker Simon Holland, who asserts that signs of “non-human intelligence in our galaxy” have been discovered, with proof expected to be made public within the month. Holland, known for his work on NASA-funded projects, shared this information during an interview with the Daily Mail.

According to Holland, a five-hour-long burst of radio waves detected by Earth-based telescopes five years ago is currently undergoing reanalysis by a team of researchers at Oxford University as part of the Breakthrough Listen initiative. This ambitious $100 million project, led by Moscow-born Israeli physicist Yuri Milner, is dedicated to the search for extraterrestrial intelligence.

“They are looking for details, hence the delay in publishing the news,” Holland explained. He noted that scientists are facing “technical hurdles” due to the radio signal’s weakness.

The enigmatic signal, initially detected in 2019 by Australian telescopes while observing the Proxima Centauri system—our closest stellar neighbor at approximately 4.2 light-years away—was labeled Breakthrough Listen Candidate-1 (BLC-1). While initial analysis led scientists to believe it might indicate the presence of life on another planet, subsequent evaluations in 2021 by researchers at Berkeley suggested it was likely a “false positive” resulting from interference between two Earth-bound transmitters.

Despite this skepticism, Holland claims that new compelling evidence is mounting to support the theory that the signal may have indeed originated from an advanced alien species. He cites a “senior EU radio telescope administrator” as a source for this revelation.

“We have found a non-human extraterrestrial intelligence in our galaxy,” Holland stated emphatically. He expressed concern that the public remains largely unaware of this significant discovery. The Oxford research team has confirmed to the Daily Mail that they are analyzing the signal, though they did not disclose specific details about their investigation.

Holland, a retired BBC film editor who now runs a YouTube channel called ‘Professor Simon,’ suggested that the urgency to announce these findings may stem from competition with Chinese researchers who reportedly discovered an alien signal in 2022 and may be preparing to disclose their results soon.
