Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan shared a candid and personal account of his journey through successes and setbacks during his appearance at the Global Freight Summit in Dubai on Tuesday. In an insightful conversation with the moderator, SRK not only reflected on his massive stardom but also shed light on how he deals with failures, both personally and professionally.

The actor, known for his unyielding determination and charisma, admitted to feeling disappointment and self-doubt after facing professional setbacks. Speaking openly about his emotional struggles, Khan confessed, “Yes, I am critical of my work sometimes. I hate feeling this way, and I cry a lot in my bathroom. I don’t show it to anyone.”

He emphasized that it is essential to introspect instead of sinking into negativity after a failure. “When you fail, you should not believe that your product or service or job went wrong. Maybe you just misunderstood the ecosystem you were working in. You have to understand how people are reacting,” said Khan, adding that failure is not always a reflection of personal shortcomings.

Shah Rukh stressed the importance of learning from setbacks and moving on. “There are moments of despair, but there are moments that say, ‘shut up, get up and get on with it’. You have to do it because the world is not against you. Life moves on, and you cannot start blaming life for what it does,” he added.

Khan’s words resonated with many in the audience as he described how crucial it is not to let failure define you. His advice to embrace failures as part of the journey was an important takeaway from the discussion.

After a four-year hiatus from films, Shah Rukh Khan made a stunning comeback with the action-packed blockbuster Pathaan in January 2023. The film, directed by Siddharth Anand, marked his first hit after a series of underperforming films like Zero and Jab Harry Met Sejal. Pathaan went on to break numerous box office records, reestablishing SRK as one of the biggest stars in the Indian film industry.

Following the success of Pathaan, Khan’s next venture, Jawan, hit theaters in September 2023. The film, which featured SRK in yet another action-packed role, grossed over Rs 1000 crore worldwide, redefining box office success. Jawan also marked the actor’s first collaboration with director Atlee and received acclaim for its gripping storyline and stellar performances.

Looking ahead, Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in King, directed by Sujoy Ghosh, keeping fans eagerly anticipating his next big hit.
