The Sri Lankan foreign exchange market has selected Bloomberg’s BMatch solution to enhance interbank trading of the US Dollar against the Sri Lankan Rupee (LKR).
The BMatch platform, part of Bloomberg’s FXGO, introduces an advanced electronic matching system that enables banks to place anonymous orders into a central limit order book. Orders are matched based on predefined trading limits and other configurable parameters, improving market liquidity, transparency, and efficiency. The system is also compatible with banks’ middle and back-office operations, offering consolidated trade statistics for greater market insight.
Rajiv Mirwani, Head of Bloomberg South Asia, emphasized Bloomberg’s commitment to strengthening financial markets, stating, “Robust and efficient financial markets will play a key role in Sri Lanka’s future economic growth. Our BMatch solution will enhance liquidity while ensuring a more transparent and streamlined foreign exchange market.”
BMatch in Sri Lanka will be operated by Tradebook Singapore, further integrating the country’s FX market with global financial technology solutions.
