A leaked document dated March 15, 2025, has shed light on an agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA), led by Majed Faraj. According to the document, the PA’s security forces will collaborate with Israel in a security arrangement aimed at countering Hamas and other resistance factions in the region.
The agreement outlines that the PA security forces will gather intelligence for Israel on Hamas and coordinate efforts to secure Israel’s needs. Additionally, the PA has pledged to activate its exiled Palestinian diaspora, including Fatah activists, to conduct propaganda campaigns and attacks against Hamas. This initiative, according to reports, has already been put into action over the past week.
As part of the agreement, the PA will also seek the support of pro-Fatah and anti-Hamas tribal leaders to incite further opposition against the Hamas movement.
In return for these services, the PA has requested benefits and interests for its officials in the West Bank, potentially including economic incentives or political concessions from Israel.
This agreement, if confirmed, highlights the ongoing collaboration between Israel and the PA despite the historically tense relationship between the two sides, particularly in the context of the broader Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The decision to target Hamas and other factions affiliated with resistance movements has been controversial, especially given the longstanding division between the PA and Hamas. The implications of this cooperation will likely be felt across the region, as it raises questions about the shifting alliances and political dynamics in the Palestinian territories.
