NDB Bank marked International Women’s Day by hosting the Araliya Medical Camp, a special event that brought together around 200 Araliya Women’s Account holders at the Bank’s premises on 8 March. This initiative was designed to underscore the Bank’s commitment to empowering women by enhancing their access to healthcare, well-being resources, and valuable guidance.
At the Araliya Medical Camp, NDB Bank collaborated with prominent healthcare partners to offer medical screenings and counselling. Ninewells Hospital provided a comprehensive medical screening, which included laboratory tests for Full Blood Count (FBC), Lipid Profile, Fasting Blood Sugar, Serum Iron, SGPT, Urine Tests, HbA1C, and doctor consultations. These thorough screenings enabled attendees to gain valuable insights into their health and well-being, reinforcing the importance of preventive care.
Additionally, Vision Care conducted eye examinations, ensuring early detection of vision issues. Fonterra, through its Anlene product line, offered adult nutrition counselling to promote bone health and overall well-being. Link Natural Products introduced its Sudantha toothpaste, delivering oral care awareness sessions and free dental check-ups. Hemas participated with its Kumarika range, providing haircare awareness, product sampling, and a mobile hair salon service.
Addressing the attendees, Ishani Palliyaguru, Vice President – Wholesale Banking at NDB, emphasised the Bank’s goal of creating holistic value for its female customers, stating: “Through Araliya, we have always aimed to address the unique needs and aspirations of women. By making healthcare and well-being services more accessible, we are reaffirming our commitment to uplifting women in every sphere of life.”
The Araliya Medical Camp was part of NDB’s broader efforts to celebrate International Women’s Day by empowering women and promoting healthy, fulfilling lives. NDB extended the opportunity for long-standing Araliya account holders—those who have maintained their accounts for five years or more—to undergo laboratory tests with partial cost coverage by the Bank. This initiative, valid throughout the year, reflects the Bank’s dedication to ensuring that its Araliya customers receive not only financial support but also essential resources for their overall well-being.
