Reinforcing its commitment to accelerating digital transformation among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), NDB Bank recently hosted a dynamic SME Digital Forum in Avissawella. The event marked another milestone in the bank’s island-wide initiative to empower entrepreneurs with cutting-edge financial tools, with a spotlight on its innovative NEOSBIZ platform.

The forum brought together a wide array of SME Business Banking clients from the region, offering them valuable insights into how NDB’s digital banking ecosystem can drive operational efficiency and long-term growth. At the heart of the event was the NEOSBIZ mobile banking application—a purpose-built platform designed to meet the specific needs of SMEs.

Participants received a live demonstration of NEOSBIZ’s features, including bulk payments, payroll management, QR transactions, and real-time fund tracking. The app’s intuitive interface and robust functionality were emphasized as key enablers for SMEs to transition from traditional, paper-based processes to fast, secure, and scalable digital workflows.

Senior officials from NDB Bank led engaging sessions on the evolving importance of digitisation for business resilience, sharing practical strategies for embracing digital tools in a competitive marketplace. The event also underscored the bank’s broader efforts to bridge the digital divide, helping SMEs streamline their operations, monitor performance, and make data-driven decisions in real time.

The Avissawella forum is part of NDB Bank’s larger initiative to drive financial inclusion and digital empowerment across Sri Lanka. Through similar events held in multiple regions, the bank continues to educate and equip entrepreneurs with the knowledge and resources needed to thrive in an increasingly digital economy.

“As a key pillar of the national economy, SMEs play a vital role in job creation and economic stability,” said an NDB spokesperson. “With NEOSBIZ, we aim to simplify banking for SMEs and provide them with the tools to scale confidently in the digital age.”

NDB Bank is Sri Lanka’s fourth-largest listed commercial bank and a recognized leader in corporate and retail banking. The bank was recently honored with multiple accolades, including Sri Lanka’s Best Bank for Corporates at the Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2024, and Domestic Retail Bank of the Year – Sri Lanka by Asian Banking and Finance Magazine.
