A landmark meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. President Donald Trump is currently underway, drawing attention both for its political significance and a symbolic diplomatic gesture.
As part of the proceedings, a letter written by President Zelensky’s wife was handed over to U.S. First Lady Melania Trump. The gesture comes just a day after Melania reportedly delivered a similar letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin during the Trump–Putin summit in Alaska, highlighting the ceremonial yet symbolic role of these exchanges.
European leaders, including European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and the UK Prime Minister, are also expected to join portions of the discussion, underscoring the international importance of the gathering.
