Mikkel Runge Olesen is a Senior Researcher at the Danish Institute for International Studies. He holds a PhD in International Relations from the Department of Political Science, University of Copenhagen. His research focuses on NATO and transatlantic relations, Arctic and Baltic Sea security, Danish foreign policy, and recent Danish diplomatic history. Olesen’s theoretical interests include realism, political psychology, and prospect theory, combining empirical analysis with insights from political theory to explore security and diplomatic dynamics in Northern Europe and the transatlantic sphere.
