Similarly, the Zolfaghar missile, already combat-proven against ISIS in 2017 and the U.S. Al Asad base in 2020, delivers 450-600 kilogram warheads at Mach 5, demonstrating Tehran’s capability to precisely target American installations.
Perhaps most striking is the Kheibar Shekan missile, designed to destroy hardened aircraft shelters before jets can scramble. Its lightweight frame and enhanced accuracy compress warning time to nearly zero, exposing U.S. bases that rely on reinforced concrete for protection. The Qiam-1 missile, with no external fins, lowers radar visibility and simplifies launch logistics, illustrating Iran’s focus on design efficiency and battlefield adaptability. Meanwhile, the Khorramshahr-4 (also referred to as Kheibar) can reach Mach 16 exo-atmospheric and Mach 8 on reentry, carry warheads of 1,500-1,800 kilograms, and strike up to 80 targets using cluster munitions. Its operational history in 2025 Israel strikes proves that Tehran can now project force across the Middle East and even into southeastern Europe, placing U.S. and allied assets squarely in the crosshairs.
