Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Wednesday accused the United States and Israel of orchestrating the ongoing conflict in Syria, calling it a “joint plot” aimed at destabilizing the region. In a post on X, Khamenei claimed that while a neighboring country is also involved, the primary culprits behind the unrest are the U.S. and the “Zionist regime.”

Khamenei asserted that Syria’s turmoil was the result of deliberate actions by the U.S. and Israel, stating, “No one should doubt that what has taken place in Syria is the product of a joint US-Israeli plot.” He added that Iran possesses evidence to support this claim, further accusing a neighboring country of playing a significant role in the unrest.

The Supreme Leader also expressed confidence that the Syrian territories under occupation would eventually be liberated by Syrian youth, emphasizing that the U.S. would not succeed in strengthening its position in the region. “The territories that have been seized in Syria will be liberated by the brave Syrian youth. The U.S. will be expelled from the region by the Resistance Front,” he said.
