In a highly anticipated address to Congress, President Donald Trump laid out a sweeping vision for U.S. domestic and foreign policy, touching on key global conflicts, economic measures, and social issues. The speech, which received strong reactions from both supporters and critics, emphasized national security, trade, and cultural values.

Russia and Ukraine: A Path to Peace? Trump announced that Russia has sent a “strong signal” indicating its willingness to negotiate peace, raising hopes for a resolution to the prolonged Ukraine conflict. He also cited a message from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in which Kyiv expressed readiness to return to the negotiating table “as soon as possible.”

US Interest in Greenland Highlighting its strategic importance, Trump reaffirmed the United States’ interest in Greenland, suggesting that the island would be welcomed if it chose to join the U.S. The move, he argued, is critical for both national and international security.

Reclaiming the Panama Canal In a controversial declaration, Trump stated that the U.S. intends to “take back” the Panama Canal. “The Panama Canal was built by Americans for Americans, not for others,” he asserted, signaling a shift in policy regarding control over the vital waterway.

Reciprocal Tariffs Set for April On the economic front, Trump announced that reciprocal tariffs will take effect on April 2. Under this policy, any tariffs imposed on the U.S. by foreign countries—particularly China, Europe, and Canada—will be met with equal tariffs in return.

Funding for the ‘Golden Dome’ Defense Shield Trump urged Congress to allocate funding for the so-called Golden Dome missile defense system, claiming that the U.S. now possesses the necessary technology to construct it. The proposal underscores a broader push to enhance national defense capabilities.

Ending ‘Woke’ Hiring Practices Taking aim at diversity initiatives, Trump declared that the U.S. will no longer be “woke.” He called for hiring and promotion to be based strictly on professional skills rather than race or gender, marking a clear stance against affirmative action policies.

Permanent Ban on Child Sex Changes On social issues, Trump urged Congress to pass legislation permanently banning and criminalizing sex changes for minors. “You are perfect exactly the way God made you,” he stated, reinforcing his commitment to conservative values.
