Singapore’s Leader of the Opposition, Pritam Singh, was found guilty on Monday by a district court of two counts of lying under oath to a parliamentary committee. The charges are linked to misleading statements made by former Workers’ Party MP Raeesah Khan in 2021 regarding her actions after accompanying a rape victim to a police station.
The court hearing, led by Deputy Principal District Judge Luke Tan, has yet to finalize Singh’s sentencing, though the prosecution is seeking a combined fine of S$14,000 (approximately US$10,450) for both charges. Singh’s defense team has proposed a fine of S$8,000, a lower penalty. If Singh faces a fine exceeding the constitutional threshold of S$10,000 per offence or a sentence of one year in prison, he will be disqualified from standing for election or serving as a Member of Parliament for the next five years.
The case stems from Khan’s false testimony in parliament in 2021, where she fabricated details of her actions in relation to a rape case, which she later admitted was a lie. Khan revealed that she herself had been a victim of sexual assault, which led to her eventual resignation from parliament.

Dear Sri Lanka Guardian,
I have a “news tip” for you, about a political scandal in Singapore’s authoritarian PAP regime.
I refer to your article entitled “Singapore Opposition Leader Pritam Singh Found Guilty of Lying Under Oath”
The prosecution by Singapore’s authoritarian PAP regime, of Mr. Pritam Singh, for allegedly lying to Parliament, stands in sharp contrast to the PAP regime’s ongoing protection of Lily Kong, the President of Singapore Management University, who repeatedly lied under oath to the Singapore High Court in 2017.
Lily Kong knows Singapore’s current prime minister, Lawrence Wong. See the video of Lily Kong and Lawrence Wong enjoying a cozy “dialogue” at this link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5RHnbbp320
There is no doubt about the fact that Lily Kong lied to the Court under oath and thereby committed perjury. It is clear that Lily Kong lied to the Court, from the following statements by Justice Woo Bih Li, a judge of the Supreme Court of Singapore, who stated that: “ … VP [Lily] Kong admitted in cross-examination that it would not be correct for her to impose such a condition but she did not accept that she had in fact imposed such a condition on the Plaintiff [Jeanne Ten]. As I have mentioned above, she [Lily Kong] did impose that condition. I also conclude that it was wrong of her to do so.”
Justice Woo Bih Li made these statements in a written judgment of the Singapore High Court entitled Ten Leu Jiun Jeanne-Marie v National University of Singapore [2018] SGHC 158 at paragraph [230]. The page of Justice Woo’s judgment that contains paragraph [230] is at this Google Drive link:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/16C0djP9IPhhPZEhd50MKVd8hb9Ob46yO/view
In carefully protecting Lily Kong and shielding her from prosecution for her perjury, Lawrence Wong’s PAP regime’s AGC is now defying the following public statement of Justice Kwek Mean Luck, who publicly stated that “the proper examination of the documentary evidence of whether Prof [Lily] Kong committed perjury can only be done at a proper criminal trial of Prof [Lily] Kong, on the charges of perjury as set out in Ms Ten’s Magistrate’s Complaint.”
This statement is in Justice Kwek Mean Luck’s written judgment entitled The National University of Singapore v Ten Leu Jiun Jeanne-Marie [2023] SGHC 191 at paragraph [61], and the page of this written judgment that contains this paragraph is at this Google Drive link:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/10x7wm7__9RSVB4BZkUW0av0b-8P4ITVe/view
Justice Kwek Mean Luck’s statement (quoted above) proves that Lily Kong has NEVER been cleared of the charge of perjury.
While Singapore’s authoritarian PAP regime (which has ruled Singapore without interruption for more than 65 years, since 1959) has aggressively prosecuted Mr. Pritam Singh for allegedly lying to Parliament (which Mr. Singh denies), the same authoritarian regime has refrained from prosecuting a woman who knows Singapore’s prime minister, even though this woman is definitely guilty of lying under oath to the Singapore High Court and thereby committing the crime of perjury, which is a serious crime in Singapore, punishable by a mandatory prison sentence pursuant to Section 193 of Singapore’s Penal Code.
Worse still, Singapore’s authoritarian regime has carefully protected and shielded from prosecution this woman who knows the prime minister, even though this woman is definitely guilty of lying to the court under oath.
The PAP regime’s ongoing protection of the “elite” perjurer Lily Kong shows that the PAP regime is now “rotting” according to the reasoning of Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat, as explained in the blog post at this link:
http://jeanneten.blogspot.com/2023/12/lee-hsien-loongs-pap-regime-is-rotting.html
The fact that Singapore’s authoritarian PAP regime is now carefully protecting the “elite” perjurer Lily Kong is an international news story, since Singapore enjoys an undeserved rosy international reputation for supposedly strictly upholding the rule of law and high standards of public integrity.
For example, the BBC recently described Singapore as “The island nation that serves as South East Asia’s financial hub [and] prides itself with its squeaky clean image.” — Source:

Jeanne Ten has evidence that proves (1) that Lily Kong is guilty of perjury, (2) that Lily Kong knows Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, and (3) that Lawrence Wong’s PAP regime is now protecting Lily Kong and shielding her from prosecution for her perjury.
Jeanne Ten would be happy to share this evidence with you.

Please be advised that there is a lot of misinformation online regarding Jeanne Ten. You cannot trust anything that Singapore’s state-controlled “news” media say about Jeanne. According to Freedom House, “All domestic newspapers, radio stations, and television channels [in Singapore] are owned by government-linked companies.” This statement is from Freedom House’s report on Singapore at this link:
