Global hospitality leader Hilton (NYSE: HLT) has officially announced the launch of its Hilton Garden Inn brand in the Philippines, with the signing of two new properties: Hilton Garden Inn Manila Quezon City and Hilton Garden Inn Cebu Mactan. These additions mark the brand’s entrance into its sixth Southeast Asian market and signal a significant step forward in Hilton’s regional expansion strategy.
The new hotels will grow Hilton’s footprint in the Philippines from three to five properties, making Hilton Garden Inn the third Hilton brand in the country. The move is part of a broader initiative to triple Hilton’s focused service presence in Southeast Asia, with the number of Hilton Garden Inn and other mid-market properties expected to jump from 12 to 40 in the coming years.
“Hilton Garden Inn is one of our fastest-growing brands in Southeast Asia,” said Maria Ariizumi, Vice President of Development, Southeast Asia at Hilton. “The Philippines is a strong focus for Hilton, as we see massive long-term tourism potential. Anchored by Metro Manila and Cebu, we are thrilled to launch Hilton Garden Inn in the country, and this is just the beginning of our exciting growth story in the market.”
Expanding in Key Metro Hubs
Hilton Garden Inn Manila Quezon City, located in the country’s largest and most populous city, will be part of a mixed-use development in Quezon City’s Central Business District. The hotel will feature 210 guest rooms and suites, an all-day dining restaurant, 450 square meters of flexible event space, an outdoor pool, and a fitness center. The location offers easy access to major attractions like the Smart Araneta Coliseum and Metro Manila’s mass transit system.
“With the Philippines’ growing prominence as a tourist destination, our partnership with Hilton supports the country’s tourism growth while offering travelers more value-driven accommodation options,” said Mikka Maglanque, President of MegaGlobal Investment Corporation.
A New Landmark in Cebu
Further south, Hilton Garden Inn Cebu Mactan will rise on Mactan Island, a prime tourism hub adjacent to Cebu City. The 151-room hotel will form part of a larger mixed-use complex offering retail and entertainment options. Facilities will include an outdoor pool, a fitness center, and 350 square meters of versatile event space. Located just 25 minutes from Mactan-Cebu International Airport, the hotel is ideally positioned for both leisure and business travelers.
“Cebu’s vibrant culture and thriving economy have made it a top destination,” said Sherwin Uy, CEO of Primeworld Land Holdings Inc. “Our partnership with Hilton reflects our commitment to enhancing Cebu’s tourism industry with elevated, upscale service offerings.”
Both hotels will participate in Hilton Honors, the company’s award-winning loyalty program. Members will enjoy exclusive perks, such as discounted rates, flexible point-and-cash payment options, and complimentary Wi-Fi when booking directly through Hilton’s preferred channels.
With the launch of Hilton Garden Inn in the Philippines, Hilton continues to solidify its position as a major player in Southeast Asia’s evolving hospitality landscape—offering globally recognized quality and comfort tailored to the needs of the modern traveler.
