Dr Aviva Guttmann is a Lecturer in Strategy and Intelligence at Aberystwyth University and author of The Origins of International Counterterrorism (2018) and Operation Wrath of God (2025). She has co-edited a book on Estimative Intelligence in European Foreign Policymaking (2022) and published widely on intelligence and international security. Founder and chair of the Women’s Intelligence Network (WIN), she connects and promotes women in the field. Previously, she was a Marie Curie Senior Researcher and Research Associate at King’s College London, with four years’ experience in Security Sector Reform in Switzerland and Nigeria. She is regularly consulted by national and international media.
