Elon Musk has been invited to CIA headquarters in Langley for a meeting with agency director John Ratcliffe to discuss government efficiency and cost-cutting measures, reports indicate. The meeting, scheduled for Monday, follows a series of efforts by the Trump administration to streamline government spending and reduce excess personnel.
The CIA recently implemented layoffs affecting up to 80 probationary staff members as part of the administration’s efficiency drive. Musk previously met with National Security Agency (NSA) chief Timothy Haugh in March to align the agency’s priorities with the White House’s vision.
As part of broader cost-cutting efforts, Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth has reported $800 million in savings through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Trump, who had a contentious relationship with intelligence agencies during his first term, has continued to push for financial discipline across security institutions.
