Dr. Asher Lubotzky is a teaching fellow and scholar in residence in the Department of Political Science at the University of Houston, specializing in settler colonialism, apartheid, and decolonization in Southern Africa, as well as Africa–Israel relations. He holds a Ph.D. from Indiana University, where his dissertation examined Israel’s early ties with Southern Africa and divergent interpretations of Zionism among South Africans. A recipient of the Gerda Henkel PhD Scholarship, he has also published on the Herero and Nama genocide and holds graduate degrees from Bar-Ilan University and the University of Haifa.
